For architects designing in water-stressed regions, a new solution for clients demanding greater water independence and security has arrived.
Ahbstra, a UK climate tech company, has launched the ARK, a plug-and-play machine that uses Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs), Nobel Prize-winning chemistry, to generate up to 500 litres of clean drinking water a day directly from the air, even in arid conditions. About the size of a shipping container, it is designed to be installed on-site as a standalone system, and is already being incorporated into architectural plans for high-end residences and boutique hotels across the Mediterranean.
